“Anyone can fly.
All you need is somewhere to go that you can’t get to any other way.”
Faith Ringgold, Tar Beach
Inspired by the work of Tom Feelings and Faith Ringgold, Alita’s illustrations blend printmaking, painting and digital art. Each image offering a glimpse into one of her original stories written for children.
Alita’s fine art practice, drawn from stories birthed by her Southern heritage, sprinkles a little bit of this - and- a little of that to cultivate mixed media works on canvas.
